About Us

Proudly Australian-owned, The Building and Maintenance Company (or The BMC as we call ourselves) has been providing property maintenance and project management services in Melbourne for 45 years. 

Initially, Vin was always bombarded by clients asking him if he could fix one more thing while on site. Realising there was a need for a reliable property maintenance service in Melbourne, Vin struck off on his own. Quoting, project managing and working on the tools himself (he is an electrical fitter mechanic by trade, after all), Vin offered reliable full-service property maintenance. Soon he was flat out adding top-notch contractors to complete building maintenance jobs in one fell swoop. Over the years, Vin’s son Steve, a concreter, and daughter-in-law Carla joined to help him manage the work. Soon they added Phil, a carpenter, to oversee all the trades they often needed to complete a job. Before they knew it, The BMC became one of Melbourne’s premier project management and full-service property maintenance companies.
